Property taxes are about 1% of the purchase price of the real estate with some areas are a little higher and some a tad lower. I have yet to see anyone decide one area over another due to the difference per month in taxes.

When you close on a property there are no city or county transfer taxes. Each city has its own sales tax rate, which is added to the Maricopa County tax rate, which averages about 7.5%-9.2% throughout the valley. Because of the heavy tourism, rentals are also taxed at about 1.0% - 3.0%.
