Property Taxes
Arizona property taxes are about 1% of the purchase price of the real estate property, although the price will fluctuate depending on the area. I have yet to see property taxes influence a buyers decision when choosing between more than one location.
City or County Transfer Taxes
When you close on a property in Arizona, there are no city or county transfer taxes. Each city has its own sales tax rate, usually averaging about 7.5%-9.2%, which is added to the Maricopa County tax rate. Due to heavy tourism, rental properties are also taxed between 1.0% and 3.0%.
